It seems like forever since the last time I posted on this site. I won’t go into the details, but life happened.
Anyway, one of the last things I touched upon was the best place to purchase art. The only thing better than going out to see some art is having some in your own home. However, there are tips and tricks to housing and securing your own art.
For example, before you even think about purchasing a piece of art, you should make sure you have the room for it. Sounds pretty elementary but there are all kinds of things you need to consider to get the most out of your own collection.
Where does the sunlight come in from?
Will your piece look good on this particular wall with this particular color?
If it’s a sculpture, is it quaint in the middle of the floor like that or will it be a hazard?
Make room for the art so that it can truly become a part of the home and not just some patch or Band-Aid of culture. If you have invested in some rather unique and expensive art, you might want to start taking the steps to protecting it as well.
Contact your home insurance provider and see what they have to say and, in the case of securing it, there are plenty of sites that specialize in home security.
